New Deep sea and Ocean Research Centre was opened last week by Emir Kanan.

The Centre is located "off shore", on a man made island within the territorial waters of the Kanan Emirate. The research, sponsored by the United Emirates, is believed to run into the trillions.

New Money

On the first of May 1506 Fixatia will issue a new set of paper currencies. The old series will still be excepted until the end of this year. The Central Bank announced that the new series will have the following denominations ;

5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 (the higher denominations will not be replaced at this point in time - they may disappear altogether, as they don't seem to be used all that often)
