The Grand Emirate and Democratic Union of Fixatia. (Otherwise known as the United Emirates of Fixatia) Hereby draw everybody's attention the following Items : Safe (Free) Passage for Sea and Ocean going Vessels (Military or Otherwise) (see both Maps) The map below shows the route all large vessels will have to follow between the Pasdosan Ocean and the Ingalian Ocean. To avoid accidents, vessels are required to stay Left of the middle of the Passage. (Any deviation from this route will be interpreted as an act of aggression, and the vessel concerned will be destroyed.). Special care is to be exercised near the Island of Qu (stay away from it's shores for as far as possible). (At the narrowest point the safe passage is only 70 Km wide, our concern being tidal waves caused by very large vessel turning.). Note : You are crossing the Territorial Borders of the United Emirates of Fixatia, as well as National Borders of two of our Emirates. Our Authorities (Marines, Coast Guard or Water Police) have the right the Enter and Inspect any Vessel, without giving a reason. (Further explanation at the bottom of the maps.). Revised Map :
The give you a better understanding as to exactly were on Scandia we are talking about, see the map below (The Map above is an enlargement of the yellow boxed in part.). Situation Map :
As it is normal for most Nations, we would prefer to have a 200 nautical mile territorial waters surrounding our lands. However laying on a Major Sea Link between the Pasdosan Ocean and the Ingalian Ocean, The Straight of Fixatia, this would impose on free trade as we know it. The United Emirates of Fixatia had no alternative, but to impose some sort of Traffic Control in the busy Straight of Fixatia. However it is our intention to keep the "Safe Passage" as Free as Possible to all Nations of Scandia. Generally speaking, only those vessels that seem to behave in an odd fashion, move off the given route (without prior permission), or give other reasons for concern, will be stopped and entered. |
